ChatGPT Plugins

In September 2021, OpenAI announced that they were starting to introduce ChatGPT Plugins to a limited group of users and gradually expanding access as they gained more knowledge. They had invited developers on their waitlist to use documentation to create plugins for ChatGPT, and had included instructions on how to use each plugin in the prompt presented to the language model.

At that time, various companies had created the initial set of plugins, including Expedia, FiscalNote, Instacart, KAYAK, Klarna, Milo, OpenTable, Shopify, Slack, Speak, Wolfram, and Zapier. Additionally, OpenAI had developed two plugins themselves: a web browser and a code interpreter. They had also open-sourced the code for a knowledgebase retrieval plugin that could be hosted by developers.

Since then, OpenAI may have added more plugins, and the Plugins page can provide users with a list of available plugins. OpenAI is gradually expanding access to ChatGPT Plugins to more users over time. Developers are enthusiastic about creating a community that will shape the future of human-AI interaction.
